BERBIGUIER, Benoit Tranquille (1782-1835)
18 Etudes for Flute

Antoine Benoit Tranquille Berbiguier was a French flautist, educator, and composer active in the early 19th century. From a young age, he studied the Western concert flute, as well as the violin and cello. In 1805, at the age of 23, Berbiguier left his family home, despite his parents’ wishes for him to pursue a career in law, to follow his passion for music. He enrolled at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris, where he studied flute with Johann Georg Wunderlich and harmony with Henri Montan Berton.
